Bit of trivia for you: the guy @15:34 is J. Michael Straczynski. He’s a writer; he worked on the Thor comic, created and wrote almost every episode of old SF series called Babylon 5, and co-created and has a writing credit on almost every episode of Sense8 (among other writing credits). He’s also, by the accounts I’ve heard, just a Good Person.

This movie and The Dark Knight is probably one of the few movies that does not have a "happy ending". The villain has been defeated, however it costs something very important, Peter lost Gwen and Bruce lost Rachel and Harvey.

I find it a great way for new comers to really get a grasp into the series for the non book readers.

Funny story: I took a (ex-) gf to see this in the theatre. Height of the MCU madness and its PACKED. Like standing room only. 😮 Its dead quiet in the audience as they are all talking in the around the table and in walks shirtless Chris Hemsworth ... every woman in the entire theatre gave a sharp, audible and involuntary inhale. Including the girl I had brought with me 😅 The silence returned for only a half second or so before we all started laughing :) acknowledging that we all had heard it 🤣😂🤣 Great movie! Probably the best of all the Thor movies imo. LETS GOOOOOOOO!! 💪😎💪😁

I'm not entirely sure about this, but I think at the time they were still loosely trying to tie this movie to the Ang Lee Hulk movie, and that's why they didn't do this one as an origin story. That's speculation on my part, and ive never actually seen the Ang Lee movie, but it was the early 2000's. Continuity in superhero movies was a moving target back then. MCU at the time was still in a nebulous stage at this point, so Universal may have been trying to keep their options open for their own Hulk franchise if the Avengers idea fell through. Even now this movie holds kind of a questionable status in the MCU because of the change in actors and there being no direct references to it in later mcu films, at least until recently when they brought back this films villain. But even still, Universal still holds the license for the Hulk, and Marvel has limited use of the character, which is why he hasn't had any solo movies set in the MCU yet. Kind of like Sony's deal with Spider-man.

Crying shame we never got a Lady Sif movie. She had her own book that ran for a few years and sold well. Instead we get characters whose books had zero following.

Always best to go in as unprepared as possible. Sometimes trailers give away important plot points too early. Some things you cannot avoid from the Title of course.

You will see the cube fairly soon. Yes, you are meant to be confused. That last scene is meant to tease that Loki is still alive and active, and that something is going on. Loki learned magic from his mother, Frigga. I don’t think we really get to see that side of her in the MCU.
